Ingredients
  

  • 1 tsp - granulated sugar
  • 3 dashes - Angostura bitters
  • ice enough to fill the glass
  • 2 oz - rye whiskey
  • orange peel
  • optional: maraschino cherry

Method
 

  1. In an old fashioned glass, combine your sugar, bitters, and a squeeze of orange juice
  2. Stir to hydrate and dissolve the sugar.
  3. Add your ice and stir
  4. Add your whiskey and stir again.
  5. Cut a slice of orange a gently rub it against the edges of the glass and then just leave the peel in the drink.
