Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 large egg yolks
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup nutella
  • 1 cup roughly chopped dark chocolate

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan, heat the cream, nutella, and milk together over medium heat. Meanwhile, whisk the sugar, yolks, and vanilla extract together in a bowl. Once the cream comes to a simmer, temper the yolks by slowly whisking in the hot cream.
  • Return the mixture back to the saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until it reaches 170F.
  • Cover and cool the mixture down in an ice bath or the refrigerator.
  • Churn the ice cream base in your ice cream machine. Mix in the chopped chocolate once the ice cream reaches a soft serve consistency. Freeze until firm.
