This Is Us: Nutella Chip Ice Cream recipe
I’ve been on an ice cream roll recently and I believe it’s all thanks to this nutella chip ice cream inspired by the hit television show, This Is Us. For some reason, I’ve been finding myself with an excess of heavy cream and I don’t know what can be better than making a whole lot of ice cream. So far, I’ve made about five flavors and the peanut butter and chocolate ice cream has been the biggest hit.
KEVIN: Can’t believe we missed her.
RANDALL: God, this Nutella chip is insane, huh? Ridonkulously good.
KEVIN: This is just so good.
THIS IS US, THE WEDDING
This nutella chip ice cream comes from the season two finale of the show when Randall and Kevin goes around town looking for Kate. They stop by her and dad’s favorite ice cream shop to look for her but instead came out with nutella chip ice cream cone. This ice cream is delicious and you’re a fool if you don’t make it! The warmer weather is coming and I can’t imagine anything else better than a big scoop of this ice cream in a waffle cone. Please enjoy!

This Is Us: Nutella Chip Ice Cream
Ingredients
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 5 large egg yolks
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup nutella
- 1 cup roughly chopped dark chocolate
Instructions
- In a saucepan, heat the cream, nutella, and milk together over medium heat. Meanwhile, whisk the sugar, yolks, and vanilla extract together in a bowl. Once the cream comes to a simmer, temper the yolks by slowly whisking in the hot cream.
- Return the mixture back to the saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until it reaches 170F.
- Cover and cool the mixture down in an ice bath or the refrigerator.
- Churn the ice cream base in your ice cream machine. Mix in the chopped chocolate once the ice cream reaches a soft serve consistency. Freeze until firm.
