On Fridays, Max eats Uncle Kev’s Chicken Nuggets. I wanted to create something similar to the McDonalds nuggets but instead of blending the chicken I decided to leave it whole. These nuggets are incredible addicting and I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

Mary and Max: Uncle Kev's Chicken Nuggets

A recipe for chicken nuggets inspired by the movie, Mary and Max.

Ingredients Method

Ingredients
  

  • 2 - chicken breast fillets diced into bite size pieces
  • 2.5 oz / 70g / 1/2 cup - all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup - cornstarch
  • 1 - egg large, beaten
  • 1 tsp - garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp - onion powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp - salt
  • 1 1/2 cup - water
  • salt and pepper as needed
  • vegetable oil as needed

Method
 

  1. Heat enough oil in a pot over medium heat to deep fry.
  2. Combine all the dries in a bowl and mix to combine. Add the lightly beaten egg and water. Mix until smooth. The batter should be thick enough to coat a spoon.
  3. Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper. Set aside.
  4. Once the oil is heat to 325F- 350F, dip the pieces of chicken in the batter and fry until golden brown.
