The Hunger Games: Mint Tea Recipe

The Hunger Games: Mint Tea

I watch from the kitchen, drinking a cup of mint tea. And then suddenly, it all comes back to me in a rush as I realize the mint taste; the same mint taste of the mint leaves we had after dinner.

Katniss Everdeen

Mint tea was the beverage Katniss Everdeen drank after dinner.  It was to trick her stomach into thinking that she was full.  Mint tea is also soothing for the stomach and a great drink to have after dinner.

yield: 2

Take a bunch of clean mint and split between two glasses.  Steep with hot water for 5 minutes before drinking.  I like adding lemon slices to this tea for extra flavor.

Mint is good because we drink mint tea after supper often, so it tricks my stomach into thinking eating time is over. Sort of.
