A recipe for Iced Blueberries with Sweet Cream inspired by the Night's Watch feast in Game of Thrones, A Song of Ice and Fire.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups - blueberries
  • 1 cup / 8oz / 226g - whole milk
  • 1/2 - vanilla bean sliced in half
  • 3 - egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup - granulated sugar

Instructions
 

  • Heat the milk, vanilla bean,and half of the sugar over medium heat until it comes to a simmer.
  • Meanwhile, whisk together the sugar and egg yolks until combined. Set aside.
  • Slowly stream in the hot cream to the yolks while whisking. Once incorporated, pour the mixture back in to the saucepan over medium heat, Constantly stir the mixture until it thicken,s about 5 minutes. Cover and let it cool.
  • Serve the blueberries over ice with a nice helping of the cold cream.
